About Us
We are a culturally inclusive food pantry founded in 2022 with support from the Eastern Nebraska District of the Great Plains United Methodists. We focus on providing foods from African, Asian, and Latin American cultures to anyone in need in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro area. And we are an independent 501(c)3.
Meeting Community Needs
Over 100,000 people in the Omaha metro are food insecure, meaning they have insufficient access to food to meet basic needs. One of the groups most impacted by food insecurity are New Americans (migrants and refugees) from across the globe.
We collect cash and in-kind food donations from individuals, churches, and partner food pantries for our distributions. We also intentionally purchase food from a mix of chain stores with low prices on staple food items and specialty foods from small, local, immigrant-owned ethnic grocery stores.
We currently distribute food once every 3-4 months at Hanscom Park United Methodist Church. At a typical food distribution we give out over $10,000 worth of food to guests from over 250 households. In 2024, our guests originated from 38 different countries.
