-
Yes! You are welcome to bring your child(ren) with you and have them wait with you until it’s your turn to get food.
-
There is high demand for the food we provide. We often have guests who start lining up outside our front door around 7:00am. We open our doors as soon as we can to allow people to sit comfortably inside the church but do not start distributing food until around 8:30am. We do our best to provide food as quickly as possible, but it is common for our guests to wait 60-90 minutes after they are seated. We appreciate your patience as we try to serve everyone who comes to our panty.
-
You are welcome to park int he church parking lot. If the parking lot is full there is street parking available. Please do not park in our neighbors’ parking lots (it is possible they could tow your car).
-
The closest is 1 block north of us at 45th & Center. The next closest is at 44th and Center.
-
Please use the entrance on the east side of the building.
-
We stock a mix of foods that are global staples (all-purpose flour, rice, beans, cooking oil, salt, etc.) as well as foods that are specific to Africa, Asia, and Latin America. While not every food item we try to provide is always available, you can see a list of foods we collect here.
-
Our health clinic can screen guests for diabetes; check blood pressure, blood glucose, and A1c levels; provide flu shots; and test kids for exposure to lead. All services are optional for pantry guests and available free of charge.
-
That’s how we started in 2022, but as of 2024 we are 501c3 that operates independently without an official religious affiliation. Several churches support our mission with donations and volunteers, and Hanscom Park United Methodist Church is generous to donate space for us to operate.
-
We currently host distributions quarterly, and they are typically in March or April, June, September, and December.
-
You can register to volunteer here. We usually have several volunteers who get food from the pantry.
